You also said that you're using both the keyboard and mouse as your input device in the "Options" of the game. You said that the game became unresponsive for you while you were viewing the dead animal soup. If that's the case, feel free to skip that step, and move on to the next. You also didn't say what troubleshooting you attempted to do if any, so I'll give you all the tips I can think of. You also didn't give any information about your computer specs or even what platform you're playing the game on (Windows, Mac or Linux.) No one else has reported this issue previously, and I, so far, have not been able to replicate it. I've combined and cross-referred your three posts here.
